Hopefully by now you have noticed the changes to the Home Page. Let's go over them:
Featured Listings- We added 4 placeholders and they now extend the length of the page
Categories- We added the Categories section to the home page to facilitate easier searching for your Video Ads
Call-to-Action Buttons- Thanks to the design expertise of David Moulton of Moulton Studio. These buttons help both Advertisers and Consumers learn about membership with Hot Pluto--straight to the point information and links.
Previous Content- Much of the previous Home Page content is still available from the Main Menu at the top as well as through some links placed at the bottom of the Home Page
The site has evolved into more of a Video Business Directory and much of the ideas came from you--so thanks and keep the great ideas coming!

Our goals are to build this video ad directory so that Advertisers get the promotion they deserve and for the price they can afford. With over 250 advertisers on the site now, we have a ways to go. Even by offering freebies, it is still a chore for the Advertiser to fit in the creation of their video ad. With that said, we have added an Image Upload option so that Advertisers can get a presssence on the site while they figure out what, who, where, when, why in regards to getting their video ad done. Their images will play like a slide-show.
Google, Yahoo and MSN are still working out how they will serve video ads up on their site in a less intrusive maner. HotPluto is defined as a Video Advertising Directory. Where we differ from these Goliaths, is that we are buidling a home for Video Advertisers--we are not showing up on various realted content websites out there via a CPC marketing campaign.
Consumers will eventually frequent the site but not before, the content is there. So the current focus remains on the Advertisers and getting their content listed in the directory.
The Video Advertising market is emerging but booming at the same time. We are in the game early and hopefully that will help us progress to a global reach and appreciation...still a long ways to go. This is why we are offering huge incentives that include FREE premium advertising for new Advertisers.
At Hot Pluto, we strongly beleive that whether it is re-purposed TV Ads, Viral Video Ads or professional Made for Internet Ads, they are coming! It's not if as far as we are concerned..it is WHEN!

Combining the Power of Google and Youtube
Google and Youtube were bascially the inspiration of HotPluto. If you combine the power and reach of both, you have a Video Advertising Business Directory. Of course content and traffic are the key to any successfull website. Throw in a catchy name and your there!
Not exactly. Everyone has to have a starting point and convince "happen by's" to stay and look around. So the content has to be compelling and the point of the website has to be clear. We are still discovering who we are and more about our audience. We hope to learn alot from people but we first need to successfully bring people to the site.
Alexa seems to be a great tool to track your traffic stats. We've have climbed the traffic charts exponentially the past 6 months but have a long way to go. SEO is a big part of it along with all the other necessary tools out there.
Blogger is a great tool and we hope to use it like it needs to be used. Reaching out to people and getting feedback is our priority. If we don't hear from people we can't get this right. We have evolved through 3 major site designs and hope we have fnally landed on the right one. Content will change from time to time (it needs to) but I think we have found the general look we want.
So once again...tell us what you want...what will make Hot Pluto a household name? "HotPluto me?" It would be really cool someday if this is the phase business owners use to tell customers how to get an in debth look of their business. The video aspect is what we hope will drive customers to the site. Shopping in this new dimension should make for more infomed purchasing.

Update 10/20/07
We have some new business freinds from BizzFlip and hope to have their Video Ad on our site soon. By the way, we highly reccommend this site which is the CraigsList of the business world. They have been up and runnnig since May and seem to be doing very well.
We remain open to hearing from anyone as to how we can improve HotPluto for both Advertisers and Consumers. Our goal is to make this site as interactive as possible in the spirit of Web2.0.

You will notice the site is heavily promoted for Advertisers as the first phase will be focused on bringing new Advertisers to the site and getting their Video Ad's listed. You will also notice there are more of the "commercial" grade Ad's on the site the samll business Ad we are targeting. This is because we decided to leave examples for other Advertisers. As new Advertisers come on board, we will relpace the samples with real Ad's. You can see there are a few.
How can you launch a site without content? Gathering content for a Video Ad directory is not easy...especially when there is little content out there. The good news is that new Advertisers will get some freebies and incentives to bring on other Advertisers that they may know. Also, I guess you could look at it this way; there is some real value in being that only Advertiser in a particular category (or as it currently is...all grouped together under Video Ads) When we get more content, we will turn on the "categories" or search function. We beleive there is no bigger turn off on a search realted site than to have someone search for specific content and find nothing. Yes, we will have to overcome this in time.
I think the hardest nut to crack is motivating people to actually take the time and create a Video Ad. If you have a camcorder and some footage, we do provide professional tools downloadable from out site that can help you create a cool, classy, funny and sticky Ad.
